Daily Task #34 Tuesday February 3rd 2015.

  Each day I am going to be posting a daily task for getting the home neat and tidy, clean and decluttered and of course -ORGANISED! 

  

Each task will take between 5 and 15 minutes with the occasional one lasting up to an hour. But it's really up to you how long you want to take doing each task.

TODAY'S TASK

Wipe down the kitchen tiles.

(Tip: I like to use a toothbrush to get in the gaps.)

Clothes Organising

Here's a fab idea for organising clothes in your wardrobe...

Colour coded hangers. You can either get different colour hangers or simply transform some wooden ones with funky paint.

I've organised my wardrobe into FOUR MAIN sections:

🌸 Spring

☀️ Summer

🍂 Autumn

❄️ Winter

After some experimentation with painting wooden hangers I've decided to go with:

Pastel PINK for 🌸 Spring 

Lemon YELLOW for ☀️ Summer

Burnt ORANGE for 🍂 Autumn

Powder BLUE for ❄️ Winter

Don't forget to put each section together in the wardrobe! 

Organising your clothes.

Here's a great idea for organising clothes...

You can either find some fancy boxes or simply use some cardboard boxes, add your own labels and bits of string and Volià! 

Great for separating different clothes that disappear in the back of the wardrobe or bottom of the drawer. It's a perfectly neat and compact solution...no clutter in sight. There's no end of possibilities!

Pet Food Storage

Ever wondered what to do with dried pet food?

If you are anything thing like us and buy dog biscuits in bulk bags and have a problem storing it here is the answer...

Get a large storage box or bin (preferably with a lid -to keep dried food fresh!)

Remove a base units hinges and replace with drawer runners. 

Attach a timber frame or a wooden base to the door to attach your storage bin to.  

And once constructed fill it up with the dried food, we've also added a handy scoop!

Now those pesky pet food bags/boxes are no longer an eyesore and you now have easy access and a neat storage solution that is incorporated into your kitchen!

Decorating Solution #1

Here's a great tip for decorating...

Take: an old washing up bowl or plastic box,

a bit of pipe insulation (if you're anything like us, there's always some lurking about in the tool box!)

and a bit of duct tape, 

And create this marvellous contraption! 

All you need to do is make a slit along the length on one side of your pipe insulation, hook it over the edge of your washing up bowl or plastic box and tape in place. 

Once you've taped it in place make cuts on the inside edge, being careful if you're using a stanley knife. 

And there you have it - a handy paintbrush holder! 

You can either fill the box with the paint you're using or just some warm water for cleaning.

A great solution for dripping paint brushes and filler spatulas.

How to Declutter your Wardrobe.

Here's a fantastic idea for decluttering your wardrobe.

Step 1: Turn all the hangers in your wardrobe round to face outwards.

Step 2: Whenever you wear something replace the hanger the right way.

Step 3: In a year give away all the clothing that is on a hanger that's facing the wrong way!

Clever Book Shelf

  Here's a fab idea for a bookshelf.

It saves your place and stores your books, it would be easy to make with a little MDF or timber and some nice paint.

Travelling Make-up.

  Here's a handy tip for transporting small amounts of make-up. Take an un-used / clean contact lenses case and put small amounts of make-up in each side! 

-Foundation, 

chapstick, 

powder, 

face cream, 

lipgloss etc. 

The possibilities are endless!! You are now free to just pop it in your handbag or to put it neatly. In with the rest of your packing if you're taking a trip.
